typically once they hit DVD/BluRay. Or maybe a bit earlier.
You can watch them the day they hit the movie theater, but they normally have a water mark or hardcoded asian sub titles.
If this interests you I can expand on the topic quite a bit, there’s so much free content out there bro. I have access to more shows and movies without a netflix supscription than I would if I paid for netflix. With just 2 “add-on’s” to Kodi I have HBO, Showtime shows, netflix exclusives, all normal TV and movies. FREE with internet connection.

I would very much like you to expand on this. I have a computer sitting in a closet waiting to turn into a kodi box. What do you run it on?

I run Kodi on a Raspberry Pi. I didn’t have an extra computer that would handle HD output, and well Pi’s are pretty kickass little guys.
The best Add On’s for Kodi that I use for movies/tv are 1Channel and Phoenix. There’s live TV apps too where people broadcast live TV up and you can pull down their channels. Like I was watching discovery channel the other day haha. the best one for that is Vdubt25 (I think it’s 25, you’ll pull it right up with Vdubt). I don’t have cable TV anymore, just cable internet. Went from 105 bucks a month down to 20. Yes, 20 even. I have a digital HD antenna and an HD Homerun which puts my HD signal from my antenna out on the network, so I can watch through Kodi, on my windows computers, on my phone/tablets and even (in a round about method) through my Xbox 360.
My investment cost of wiring the whole house with Cat 6 ethernet cable, buying a new router (with a 3.0 USB port that has my usb 3.0 hard drive plugged in for all of my owned content to be accessible through the Pi’s -I have two) new 10/100/1000 8 port switch, blu ray player, antenna, hd homerun (most expensive, but bought used) was probably around 400 bucks. With a savings of 85 bucks a month I’m paid off next month already lol
I recommend these 2 videos that will help with set up of Kodi. You can run Kodi on pretty much anything now so you could even install on your normal main computer to explore it’s capabilities before setting this whole thing up. Let me know if you have more questions. I love this stuff.

I looked at your post and see that you are using a B+ I have a raspberry pi I am using to stream music via airplay at the moment, but I doubt if it is fast enough for streaming video and not being frustrating to use use. I think I’m going to make building a Kodi box a project for this weekend. I already am cableless, and just use hulu for most of my tv consumption. I will definitely ask if I have any more questions. Thanks for the advice!

Yea they have a new raspberry pi that’s even faster than mine out now, when I upgrade the old ass plasma i’m buying one of thrn as my main pi. There’s companies that build mini Kodi computers too, you can find them on Amazon. Come with a remote and everything. Pi Will need keyboard, etc. I love it tho
